To make this garment i was inspired by both edwardian era fashion and uses traditional japanese textiles. Breathable medium-weight linen cotton blend fabric in a light cream. Vintage kimono panels with hand-painted art work on an off-white textured silk background (silk has been unpicked from a traditional kimono). Cape wrap cut / or turn it into a jacket or dress with a belt. Beautiful drape and flowing movement to the fabric.
One of a kind, wearable art. There is some staining on this vintage silk, please see the pictures provided or get in touch if you have any further question. We have adapted the price to reflect the condition of the fabric. Garment weight: medium to heavy. This is a handmade & completely unique item, made by me in my studio.

A lovely alternative to a jacket or coat at a winter wedding or wear it with trousers for a special occasion. Front length: 26.5'' (from shoulder seam to hem). Back length: 28'' (center back neckline to hem).
Arm length: 21.5'' - very long arm. The fit is oversized but if you think its too big or long we can either alter it for you or make one to order. Top silk layer: the beautiful vintage silk is still in good condition but there is some water staining due to its old age (1950's) its also been hand painted and the design work is still bold and striking. With bright and deep shibori dyed abstract flowers on a black branch stretching across the front of the jacket. I made the top panels of this item by joining together the pieces of the vintage kimono silk to reuse all of the original fabric. Main fabric: a lovely medium weight cotton linen blend fabric in a light cream. This fabric doesn't crease like pure linen does and has lots more drape and movement in the fabric. The combination of silk and linen make the garment very breathable and light to wear so it will keep you cool in the summer months but is also a versatile winter cover up. Care: dry clean only, the hand painted art work and delicate texture of the silk means this garment cant be washed by machine. Why wash it anyway, this jacket is very loose it really doesn't need regular washing at all.
Get in contact of you need further instructions or have any questions. Iron on a medium to high heat either on the front or back. If you iron on the silk side i would recommend using a low heat setting. All items are sent with tracking at no extra cost.
