Ellis Chore Coat
When the classic french chore coat meets american workwear meets japanese simplicity meets cozy quilt coat. With a large collar, roomy pockets, color blocked linen cotton and denim, and tonal multidirectional quilting, the unisex ellis chore coat is so much more than the average chore coat. It's the perfect shoulder season layer - breathable yet warm, ideal for 45f - 70f. Inspired by laura's husband, john, whose classic american style (think james dean) and love of japanese woodworking and symmetry (he designed and built their entire house) influenced every aspect of the design. The ellis chore coat is easily a wardrobe staple and that will wear like your favorite pair of blue jeans and become a future heirloom for generations to come.

Laura is 5'8 with a 33 chest and 41 hips and is wearing a size medium. John is 6' with a 40 chest and 44 hips and is wearing a size large. Outer: cornflower linen cotton, yarn dyed nautical linen cotton, and dark denim cotton. Lining: yarn dyed nautical linen cotton. Inner: lightweight bamboo cotton batting.

Buttons: navy terracotta corozo buttons. Fabric is prewashed for softness and to minimize shrinkage. Made to order just for you with a 4 - 6 week production time.

Machine pieced, quilted, assembled and hand finished by our seamstresses in florida, maine, chicago, and new york. Fully lined with all seams enclosed using durable, quality methods like hong kong finish seams. Dry clean for smoothest finish. Otherwise, machine wash delicate in cold water with a gentle detergent.

Tumble dry low until damp, then lay flat to finish drying. Press with a hot iron to remove any creases. Fabric will crinkle slightly after the first wash and will soften with use and wear.
