Vintage (1950s 1960s ) Leather Motorcycle Jacket Size 42

Stylish vintage rockabilly motorcycle jacket. Have you seen a motorcycle jacket like this before (if you have i'd welcome your knowledge about it please). I'm unsure of this jackets history / age / maker, so what i'm saying about it is based on what i see in front of me and a bit of googling. This jacket has been around (1950s, 1960s it's main zip is ries and they didn't begin making zips until 1949) and suffered age related injuries, it has had plenty of bodgit sewing repairs, mainly to the lining (all over) and a little to the leather panel joints under the arm, but although not good, these repairs have kept it together, so still usable, but more importantly all original, i like originality.

Please study the photos as they show the condition and the unusual original features far better than i can describe things. Pit to pit measures 21 (see photo) which i believe makes it a uk size 42 chest.

25 collar seam to hem tail (see photo). It has two external waist pockets, one external tummy level pocket and an internal pocket, all pocket linings intact. Zipped cuffs, elbow padding'armour'.

All zips are original and working as designed, but right sleeve zip is missing original metal pull. For its age overall the leather is still soft and supple and still strong and hangs well. Leather panel joints are all together with the exception of the stitching around the outer edge of the tummy and right external pockets, stitching alongside the yellow beading.

Apart from the damage to the lining, i've already mentioned, the jacket has not suffered any real damage, no rips in the leather (apart from inside bottom left), or bad scuffing anywhere, but please understand it is very, very far from perfect, at some point it has had two badges sewn on (now removed), i guess this all makes for a great patina, i loved wearing it and enjoyed the remarks it got. It could do with an airing or clean as it does have a little of that distinctive vintage leather jacket smell.

The total weight of this jacket is 2.5kg, a really lovely jacket with plenty of unusual features in original condition, all it needs is someone to wear it, as sadly i've eaten toooo well, so it no longer fits this fat old vintage biker. Please feel free to ask questions.

This item is made of leather and metal.
